How to Get Started with Yoga of Intimacy
Most people start in the wrong place. Here is the path that actually works.
The most common mistake is skipping ahead. Someone finds Londin and me through a video or a recommendation, feels the pull of what we are teaching, and immediately wants to jump into private mentorship or the live calls. That impulse makes sense. But the path works better when you follow it in sequence — and the sequence is simpler than you might expect.
Level One: Start with the Books
The two published books are the foundation. Not a preview, not a summary — the actual foundation. The Alpha and Omega Polarity Framework, the I See Practice, the I Feel Practice, the Three Pillars of Presence, Polarity, and Devotion: all of it is in the books, described with precision and depth. Reading them is not preparation for the real work. Reading them carefully, more than once, is the real work — for most people at the beginning.
Playing With Fire: The Spiritual Path of Intimate Relationship was written by Londin and me together. It covers the full framework as it applies to intimate partnership: the nature of Alpha and Omega, the two core practices, the nondual foundation in what the book calls Conscious-Light, and the lived reality of what this teaching looks like inside a real relationship over many years. It does not soften the challenge. It describes what is actually required.
The Awakened Woman's Guide to Everlasting Love is written by Londin and focuses on the Three Pillars: Presence, Polarity, and Devotion. It speaks primarily to women, but the depth of the framework described in it is relevant to anyone working with the Omega orientation or trying to understand what this teaching asks of the partner who orients toward Omega.
From Awakened Woman's Guide to Everlasting Love, Londin describes what the Alpha and Omega framework gave her:
"Learning how to create polarity was a breath of fresh air for me. When I learned how to inspire Justin's desire any time I wanted, my life changed. I was no longer the victim to love's whimsy... Polarity gave me the courage to commit again."— Londin Angel Winters, Awakened Woman's Guide to Everlasting Love
Start here. Read slowly. The books will tell you what you need before you show up to a live call.
Level Two: Join the Live Monthly Calls
When you have a working understanding of the framework from the books, the live monthly calls on the Yoga of Intimacy Patreon become significantly more useful. The calls assume the language. Members who have read the books arrive able to ask precise questions about real dynamics in their lives. Members who skip the books sometimes find themselves using the calls primarily to learn vocabulary that the books would have given them already.
Three monthly calls are available through Patreon membership:
Men's Group — led by Justin, focused on the Alpha orientation: presence, groundedness, the I See Practice, and what it means to lead in relationship from genuine stability rather than performance.
Women's Circle — led by Londin, focused on the Omega orientation: aliveness, the I Feel Practice, the Three Pillars, and what it means to remain genuinely open rather than armored or compliant.
Couples Calls — led by Justin and Londin together, focused on the live dynamics between partners: how Alpha and Omega meet, where the fire goes flat, and what restores it.
Members have access to all three calls and their recordings. The right entry point depends on who you are and where you are: single men and coupled men typically begin with the Men's Group; single women and coupled women typically begin with the Women's Circle; couples often begin with the Couples Calls, though many find it useful to also attend the gender-specific calls in parallel.
Level Three: Private Mentorship
Private mentorship is the most direct form of engagement with Justin's teaching. It is personalized to your specific situation — your particular dynamic, your orientation, your relationship history, the precise stuck places you are navigating. It is appropriate when you have been working with the framework long enough to have real, specific questions, and when the live calls, while valuable, don't have the bandwidth to address what you need in depth.
This is not the place to begin if you are new to the framework. Private mentorship works best when there is already a foundation — from the books and, ideally, from some time in the live calls. An exploration call is available at justinpatrickpierce.com to determine whether private mentorship is the right next step and what it would look like for your specific situation.
The Path Works Because It Is Sequenced
Londin and I have been living this framework together for 16+ years, including as parents of a young daughter. What we have developed is not a collection of techniques or a set of principles to understand intellectually. It is a way of being in the body, in the relationship, in real life — developed through practice, over time, with the right guidance at each level. The fire does not sustain itself. You learn to tend it. That is what we teach.
The books give you the framework. The live calls give you the community and the responsive teaching. Private mentorship gives you the personalized guidance when you are ready for it. Skipping ahead tends to mean missing the depth that each level builds. Following the path in sequence tends to mean arriving at each level already prepared for what it offers.

FAQs: Getting Started
Q: Where do I start if I'm completely new to this work?
A: Start with the books. Playing With Fire: The Spiritual Path of Intimate Relationship covers the full Alpha and Omega framework, the I See Practice, the I Feel Practice, and the nondual foundation of the teaching. The Awakened Woman's Guide to Everlasting Love covers the Three Pillars of Presence, Polarity, and Devotion. Both books are available on Amazon. Most people find it useful to read both, regardless of gender.
Q: Which book should I read first?
A: Playing With Fire covers the full framework and is the best starting point for most people — single or coupled, men or women. The Awakened Woman's Guide to Everlasting Love is particularly valuable for women, or for anyone who wants to understand the Omega orientation and the Three Pillars in depth. Reading both gives the most complete picture of the framework as Justin and Londin actually teach it.
Q: Is Patreon right for beginners?
A: Patreon is right for people who have a working familiarity with the framework from the books. Members who arrive having read Playing With Fire and/or The Awakened Woman's Guide are prepared to use the live calls well — to ask precise questions, to engage with what the teaching offers, to apply it to real dynamics in their lives. Members who skip the books sometimes find the calls harder to navigate without the foundational language.
Q: When is private mentorship the right step?
A: When you have been working with the framework long enough to have real, specific questions — and when those questions require personalized attention that live group calls can't give them. Private mentorship is not the starting point. It is most useful after time spent with the books and, ideally, with the live calls. An exploration call at justinpatrickpierce.com helps determine whether mentorship is the right fit and what it would look like for your specific situation.
Q: Can I do all three levels at once?
A: You can begin the books and join Patreon simultaneously — many people do. Private mentorship while also attending Patreon calls is also common. What doesn't serve most people is jumping directly to private mentorship without any foundational time with the books or live calls — not because the mentorship isn't valuable, but because you get more from it when you already have context for what you're working with.
Q: How long does it take to see results?
A: This isn't a program with a fixed timeline. The practices — the I See Practice, the I Feel Practice, orienting toward Alpha or Omega in your daily life and relational dynamics — can shift something quickly when they are genuinely applied. The depth of the shift, and how it compounds over time, depends on how consistently you practice and how honestly you engage with what the practices reveal. Some people feel a meaningful shift within weeks of beginning. Others find the work unfolds over months or years of sustained engagement.
Q: How do I know if this is working?
A: Not through a checklist, but through the felt quality of what is present between you and your partner — or in your own body and way of being with people. Is there more genuine aliveness? More willingness to be seen? More steadiness when things are difficult? More heat between you? These are the signs. The work is embodied, and the results show up in the body and in the lived experience of the relationship — not in concepts you can describe but in qualities you and the people around you can feel.
